Stones were thrown at BJP MP Arjun Singh after clashes began
Police provided details of the incident, saying that BJP supporters and TMC supporters clashed at Bhatpara near Kolkata on Sunday when Barrackpore MP Arjun Singh was allegedly pelted with stones. Arjun Singh had come to attend a program on the occasion of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary, the police said.
Vandalized three vehicles
Police say two cars, including a police car, were vandalized in the clashes in the bastion of political unrest in North 24 Parganas district. The BJP MP was rescued and sent safely to his residence, said Joint Commissioner of Police Dhruba Jyoti De. Several police officers, along with senior officers, have been deployed at the scene.

BJP MP Arjun Singh says everything happened in front of police
BJP MP Arjun Singh told reporters that the TMC goons attacked our MLA Pawan Singh when he went to pay tribute to Netaji today at 10:30 am, shooting bullets at him and throwing bricks. The TMC also attacked me when I got there. The entire incident unfolded in front of the police, and my car was broken into.
