OTT NEW RELEASES: ‘Persuasion,’ ‘Zombies 3’
Netflix will show Jane Austen’s romantic novel Persuasion this weekend, and Disney+ will show Zombies 3, the channel’s third original film.

A romantic comedy, Love Accidentally, will air on Freevee this weekend, as will an adventure-drama film, Don’t Make Me Go, about a single father dragging his daughter on a summer road trip.

Films
‘Persuasion’ — Netflix
In Friday’s premiere of the film based on Jane Austen’s novel of the same name, Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) stars. Johnson will play Anne Elliot, a woman torn between a past love and an attractive new suitor, Frederick Wentworth (Cosmo Jarvis). Henry Golding, Richard E. Grant, and Nikki Amuka-Bird also appear.

‘Don’t Make Me Go – Prime Video
The dramedy stars John Cho (Star Trek, Cowboy Bebop) as Max, a terminally ill single father who takes his daughter, Wally (Mia Isaac), on a summer road trip. The show premieres on Friday. As well as Mitchell Hope (Descendants), Jermaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), Stefania LaVie Owen (The Carrie Diaries), and Kaya Scodelario (The King’s Daughter, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), the film stars Jermaine Clement and Stefania LaVie Owen.
‘Zombies 3‘ — Disney+
Milo Manheim will play zombie Zed in the third film of the Zombies franchise, premiering on Disney+ on Friday. Manheim told UPI that conflict is a positive thing since it encourages conversation. After aliens swoop into Seabrook, Zed meets cheerleader Addison (Meg Donnelly).
‘Love Accidentally’–Freevee
A romantic comedy about a phone-only relationship after an emotional breakup opens Friday. The film stars Brenda Song (Dollface) as Alexa, a woman who, while competing for a job at an advertising firm, falls in love with Jason (Aaron O’Connell). A role in the film is also played by Denise Richards as someone who interviews them for a job.
‘She Will’ — Video on Demand
This Friday, IFC Films premieres a mystery film about an aging film star (Alice Krige) who encounters forces of revenge from a land where witches were burned. The film also stars Malcolm McDowell and Rupert Everett.

‘The Rehearsal’ — HBO
Fielder’s new show about preparing for life’s uncertainties premieres on Friday. An ordinary person will be able to experience life events through the six-episode show. Fielder returns to television after directing two episodes of Sacha Baron Cohen’s political satire Who Is America?
