The National Stock Exchange closed at 18,300 with the Nifty closing at this level. The Nifty ended the day at 18,308 with a 52-point gain.

The stock market opened higher on Monday, the first trading day of the week, amid mixed global cues. The Sensex opened with a gain of 52 points, while the Nifty gained 30 points. Approximately 1674 shares rose during the stock market’s opening, while 657 shares declined. During Friday, the last day of last week’s trading, the stock market closed in red. Nifty lost 2 points or 0.01 per cent to close at 18,256, while the Sensex lost 12 points at 61,223 level.
