The meeting under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi today will bring big benefits to central government employees. There is a possibility that a decision will be taken about the stalled DA arrears of the employees at this meeting. Employees can directly benefit up to two lakh rupees if this happens. The amount will be deposited into their accounts in one lump sum. The meeting of the Union Cabinet will begin at 3:30 pm, according to information.

Actually, the decision to release the DA of central employees who have been stuck for 18 months has not been made yet, but according to information, the decision can be made in the cabinet meeting today. The government plans to pay DA arrears in one installment. A lump sum of Rs 2 lakh can be credited to the account of government employees if this happens. The DA arrears of Level-1 employees will range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,000. In addition, Level-13 employees will receive Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 as DA arrears.

For many years, employees have been demanding

DAs of central government employees are updated twice a year from January to July. DA is calculated by multiplying the current rate of dearness allowance by the basic salary. DA is given to government employees, public sector employees, and pensioners. It is used to help employees pay for living expenses. Cabinet members will be laid off if the central government decides to do this in a meeting. There has been a long-standing demand for the stuck money of DA arrears from the employees.

The Prime Minister can resolve the issue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been informed of the 18-month arrears. Pensioners Forum of India has also written to the Prime Minister regarding arrears payments. BMS has also asked the Prime Minister to intervene and direct the Finance Ministry to release the arrears of DA and DR withheld between January 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021, as soon as possible.
