The Supreme Court had allowed the resumption of counselling for NEET-PG admissions in 2021-22 on Friday. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Health Minister, said Sunday that counselling for NEET-PG admissions for the year 2021-22 will begin on January 12.
“As per the assurance given by the Ministry of Health to the resident doctors following the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, the NEET-PG counselling will be started by the MCC [Medical Counselling Committee] from January 12, 2022,” the minister said in a tweet.

This will give the country more strength in the fight against Corona. “Best wishes to all the candidates,” he concluded.
The Supreme Court on Friday allowed the resumption of NEET-PG counseling for the 2021-22 academic year. The court also upheld the validity of the 27 per cent reservation for candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) and the 10 per cent reservation for those from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) had released the results for NEET-PG 2021 on September 28 last year. As a result of a stay imposed by the apex court, resident doctors had protested and the counseling process was delayed until October.
