Government’s big action:
Ban on 35 YouTube channels spreading anti-India propaganda, two websites also banned
India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued instructions to block 20 YouTube channels, 2 Twitter accounts, 2 Instagram accounts, 2 websites, and 1 Facebook account.
The Government of India Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has once again issued instructions to block twenty YouTube channels, two Twitter accounts, two Instagram accounts, two websites, as well as one Facebook account. Vikram Sahai, Joint Secretary of the Ministry, gave this information in a press conference. Subscribers to these channels number in the millions, and they receive millions of views. Propaganda against India was being broadcast through all of them. Vikram Sahai stated that all of these channels and accounts are operated from Pakistan and spread anti-Indian news.

Earlier in December last year, 20 YouTube channels and two websites were also banned for spreading anti-India propaganda. Anurag Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, said we have taken action against websites spreading anti-India propaganda. The YouTube channel and website belong to a Pakistani propaganda network spreading fake news about sensitive Indian topics.
