Defamation case against Rahul Gandhi: RSS worker accused of tarnishing the image of the Sangh, a hearing will be held on February 22

The RSS worker from Bhiwandi filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi. Bhiwandi court will hear the case on February 22.

The Bhiwandi Court in Pune has decided to begin hearing the defamation case against Rahul Gandhi on February 22. Defamation charges were filed by an RSS member working in Pune.

The hearing of the case was originally scheduled to begin on February 10, but advocates Prabodh Jaywant and Ganesh Dhargalkar, representing complainant Rajesh Kunte, told the court on Thursday that their writ petition challenging lower court orders in the matter is pending in the Supreme Court. Therefore, the hearing should be postponed until the final date. Magistrate JV Paliwal said, however, that the hearing will not be delayed. On February 22, the matter will be heard. The evidence presented by the complainant will be recorded at the next hearing.

Kunte, who sued Rahul Gandhi, is a local worker for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. At an election rally in 2014, Kunte said Rahul Gandhi had held the Sangh responsible for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. According to the RSS worker, this statement has tarnished the image of the Sangh. He filed a defamation lawsuit against Rahul Gandhi on the basis of this statement.
