Announcement: Gallantry awards to 384 people this year

The annual Gallantry Award will go to 384 people this year, with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal going to Neeraj Chopra, who won the gold at the Olympics

In this year’s ceremony, 4 Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, 53 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, 13 Yudh Seva Medals and 112 Vishisht Seva Medals will be awarded.

On Tuesday, the Central Government announced the awarding of gallantry awards to the Armed Forces Force. According to the list released, this time 384 soldiers will receive gallantry awards. Of these, 12 have been awarded the Shaurya Chakra and 29 have been awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal. Neeraj Chopra of the Rajputana Rifles, who won a gold medal for India in the Olympic Games last year, is also among the recipients of the Param Vishisht Seva Medal.

In addition to this, four Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, 53 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, thirteen Yudh Seva Medals, and three ‘bars’ of Vishisht Seva Medals will also be given to the soldiers this year. It is important to note that soldiers who have already received a gallantry award are given this award as a ‘bar’ and not as a medal.

On Tuesday evening, President Ram Nath Kovind presented 122 Vishisht Seva Medals, 81 Sena Medals (Gallantry), two Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry), 40 Sena Medals (Dedication to Duty), eight Nao Sena Medals (Dedication to Duty), and fourteen Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry) devotion to duty.
