Central government employees have big news to share. The decision to release the DA that has been pending since 18 months has not yet been taken, but according to the new update it will happen soon. The DA arrears of central employees may be decided at the next meeting of the Union Cabinet, according to a report.

Lump sum Rs 2 lakh will come in the account

The Cabinet Council plans to settle the pending DA arrears for the last 18 months by paying them all at once. A lump sum of Rs 2 lakh can be deposited into the accounts of government employees if this occurs. There will be a meeting of the Joint Consultative Mechanism (JCM) with officials of the Ministry of Finance, Department of Personnel and Training, and Department of Expenditure soon. A lump sum payment of DA arrears is likely to be discussed. Level-1 employees are required to pay DA arrears in the range of Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,000. Additionally, Level-13 employees will receive Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 as DA arrears.

For many years, employees have been demanding

A central government employee’s DA is updated twice a year, from January to July. Based on the current rate of dearness allowance and the basic salary, the Dearness Allowance is calculated. In order to qualify for DA, employees of the public sector and pensioners need to work in the public sector. These benefits are intended to assist the employees with their living expenses. If the central government takes a decision in the next cabinet meeting, then central employees will be bat-bats in the new year. DA arrears have been piling up since long before the employees demanded them. The government is expected to make a decision this week, according to a report.

We wish to inform you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been notified of the 18-month arrears. There has also been a letter written to the Prime Minister by the Pensioners Forum of India regarding arrears payments. Moreover, the BMS has also appealed to the Prime Minister to intervene in this matter and direct the Finance Ministry to release the arrears of DA, DR withheld between January 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021 as soon as possible. According to a new update, the central government can provide relief to the central employees by giving a verdict on this matter.
