Punjab:
Rahul Gandhi blew the bugle for the Congress party’s election campaign in Punjab. Things aren’t going well for the Congress party in Punjab. There have been 5 MPs who distance themselves from Rahul’s program over ticket distribution issues.
During the preparations for the assembly elections in five states, there have been battles over tickets, defections, accusations, counter-allegations, and dissatisfaction with leaders. Five Congress MPs are seen to be unhappy with the distribution of tickets in Punjab in this episode.
Among them are Jasbir Singh Gill, MP from Khadur Sahib, Ravneet Singh Bittu, MP from Ludhiana, Mohammad Sadiq, MP from Faridkot, Preneet Kaur, MP from Patiala, and Manish Tewari, MP from Anandpur Sahib. As a result of this displeasure, these people have also distanced themselves from Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Punjab today.
The MPs are upset that their near and dear ones have been left out and are not being consulted on ticket distribution. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, however, dismissed these reports as false rumors.
Jasbir Singh Gill also tweeted about Rahul not attending the program. According to this statement, he said, “I am unable to join Amritsar due to personal reasons, and I have already informed my leadership of this.”
